"Dear Tree" is a gentle listening experience - a collection of people's responses to trees, acknowledging and contemplating the position of nature within our lives. Listeners lie together, circling a tree, looking up through the canopy and absorbing through headphones, spoken words... words spoken dearly to trees by local community participants.
Listen here to a couple of examples of Dear Tree soundtracks.
(Ideally listened to in headphones while lying under a tree)
Rose has presented locally recorded versions of "Dear Tree” at:
Festivals: Ballarat Begonia Festival, Art Is… Festival (Dimboola, Vic), Natimuk Frinj Biennale (Vic) & in Lutruwita/Tas at Junction Arts Festival, Panagea Festival (a takyana/Tarkine version).
Botanical Gardens: Nipaluna/Hobart & Wollongong
& online versions during the pandemic & for Magnetic Spaces (Penrith, NSW)
"A beautiful tree to lie under. Thank you for a peaceful ten minutes from a whole new perspective."
“This reminds me of why my husband and I married under a canopy of tree - trees are life and love!”
